DS vs PSP - Image 1Analyst firm iSuppli is predicting that come 2013, handheld shipments would have ballooned to 63.5 million. It is also their belief that no new handheld technology will be released by either Sony or Nintendo until 2011 at the earliest.

The global market for handheld video game systems is set to buck weak conditions in the global consumer electronics market and rise by 4.9 percent in units and 8.2 percent in revenue during 2009, due to moves by Sony and Nintendo to freshen up their products.

While the long-term growth rate isnÂ’t staggering by any means, NintendoÂ’s and SonyÂ’s platform revisions should keep their portable game console shipments growing until they are able to roll out next-generation handheld platforms.

So this Analyst actually thinks that a portable console will have a 9 year life span. rofl. and it will be either this year or next year, not 2011.

I love predictions because by the time it is disproven, nobody will remember what you said. If you were right, you get to say, "I told you so".

Analysts :/ They should have a meeting and get their stories straight.
