The online retailer has just opened up a new gimmick, selling online game codes for the Xbox Live. You might be going, "Huh? Why bother?" But on closer inspection, this might not be a bad idea after all.

Xbox Live on Amazon - Image 1

Here's how it'll work. Log in to Amazon.com, pick a game that you'd like, buy it, and you'll receive  an online code. Enter this online code through your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com and get the game. You can also use the code after purchase and send it as a gift via email. This will also let you guys get subscription cards for Xbox Live, plus it provides an alternate way of getting Microsoft Points for the online service.

You don't have to go through the trouble of having to get Microsoft Points since you'll be using cash straightaway. Plus if you're looking for a gift to get your gaming friends, then hey, one more option isn't gonna hurt.

Rumor has it that a similar service might come to Nintendo's and Sony's platforms, but Amazon simply said that they "don't comment on future plans." Check out the source link below and check out Amazon's new offering.

Amazon rocks so hard.

» For starters...

This isn't xbox360 updates, it's pspupdates. Why is there a *****ty xbox360 post here.

Secondly, if you hadn't realized by now, xbox and the 360 suck.

Lastly, Xbox Live is *****, online gaming should be free, seeing how most people pay for their internet, why charge your customers even more just to get their systems online.

Do your research before you post ignorant comments like this. This isn't a post specifically for the xbox 360. This post is about potentially being able to buy code based items off of amazon rather than waiting for them to come to your door. This affects Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, etc. So this topic is in every single one of those forums.

Secondly, stop your fanboy comments because it is completely unnecessary. It makes you sound completely ignorant. You are allowed to have your own opinion but you should keep them to yourself because you're only going to start a flame war with other fanboys.

» You just don't get it...

It's like steam for consoles.

The Xbox 360 doesn't suck, I use it the most out of all 3 consoles. Yes I strongly agree with you that Xbox Live should be free. But that is because I play PC games, and not because I am flaming PS3 fanboy.

It should be free because you've payed for your internet access? I guess gas should be free because you payed for your car too? Sony has chosen to make it free, which ends up costing them a lot of money and to be honest.. it's not half as good as Live when it comes to stability, speed, features and content. I would never pay for my PSN account but I like that it's free. Let's just leave it at that, it's one hell of a tired discussion.

First of all, learn the use of caps in words.

Second of all, you are just making yourself sound very ignorant and retarded technology wise.

I could say the same bad things about the ps3 like the HUGE lack of games, and the bulky over priced system itself.

Those are well rounded honest opinions that other casual gamers agree on.

Your 360 and xbox sucks comments can only agree with all the other little sucking on sony's rooster fanboys....

You know LeXiO, after reading your other posts on other articles, (especially where you got slammed by Gino D I believe? about why post rumors of the PSP2, that was gold) I think you must be new here because no one elses stupidity is sticking out as much as yours at the moment. Your views are narrow minded, and your latest one screams fanboy which is sad and serves no point. Welp, anyway you suck.

What 'huge' lack of games. The vast majority of Xbox titles are on the PS3 as well such as Burnout, Street Fighter, Resident Evil and so on, and the PS3 has plenty of it's own exclusives which have kept me far more entertained than the X360's exclusives with several very promising titles coming soon as well. And as for the price... considering what you get in the box as standard it's not even remotely overpriced. Hell, I bought one even when I was unemployed and relatively broke. It wasn't that expensive at all. I just sold some old ***** clogging up my cupboards like old console games and accessories. Easily affordable.

Your 'well rounded opinions' sound like idiotic bull***** from someone who doesn't have a damn clue what he's talking about.
