Ubisoft has released a a number of titles enough to create a virtual zoo for the DS and the PC. Collectively known as The Petz series, the games allows players to adopt and train cuddly critters and raise them in a virtual environment. Like real world pets, Petz spend their first few days inside the house and you eventually take them for a walk around the neighborhood to visit friends.
The Petz menagerie includes:
Dogz. Only a living heart donor can resist a cold-nosed, wide-eyed puppy! In Dogz, you get to adopt, love, care for and interact with an adorable puppy. Later, you must train your tail wagger to do trick and compete in talent shows to earn money for food, toys, and outfits.
Catz. Strictly for cat people, Catz features a newly adopted kitten that must be kept well fed and happy with plenty of food and attention! To earn Kitty Coinz for buying fun kitty clothes and accessories by helping out the neighbors. Being the supermodels of the Petz world, cars love to strike poses and be photographed. And as cat owners you can share them with friends via the Wi-Fi.
Horsez. Few of us have the space and the means to keep horses as pets. Until now. Adopt, care for, and train your very own pony. Then join the academy, where your trained horse ha a chance of becoming a true champion! Learn how to raise, groom and feed your horse. Earn cool outfits and riding gear in contests such as cross, jumping, dressage and more.
Hamsterz Life. The most loved rodent of all, hamsters have become a part of almost everyone's childhood. Raise, train and care for your adorable adopted hamster so it will grow strong. active and healthy. As your hamster grows, it will build its own “Ham-Country,” (complete with bakery, bookstore, playground and more) and invite other hamsters to come play.
Dogz and Catz are currently among the top GBA games while the PC version have sold more than 1.4 million copies. The Petz series are rated “E” for Everyone and are available at an MSRP of US$ 29.99 for DS, US$ 19.99 for PC, and US$ 29.99 for PS2.
