gboyMore on the Nintendo 3DS - a lot of games and features were shown earlier and one of them was the system's Game Boy capabilities. There are quite a few new games to play in the new handheld, but in case you love going retro, it'll have its own library of Game Boy titles.

Akin to the retro service of the Virtual Console, the 3DS will have access to classics from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. You can opt to play these games in 3D, or adjust back to the regular 2D feel with the 3DS' depth slider.

Nintendo hasn't announced which classics will be available at launch or how the digital re-releases will be priced.

Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow would be cool. Thrown in 3D and it'll be like having a big blocky Ash in front of you!

I'm sure they're planning it down the line, would be a big missed opportunity if it's not.

System is way overpriced and then they make you buy old games you still probably own for the gameboy/GBA. You should be able to trade in the cartridge of the old games and have access to the download. Double and triple dipping is bullsh!t.

The gameboy came out in 1989. Just because you have a collection of games dating back 21 years doesn't bean everybody else does. Plenty of people will now be able to buy and play games released before they were born! Nintendo is doing EXACTLY what a lot of their customers have asked for. Providing a legal way for them to purchase and play games which would otherwise be difficult or impossible to find and play legally.

If you think the system is over priced consider this. Try and price a CD camera or an auto stereo 3D display. They are extremely expensive. If they had tried to release this thing a few years ago they would have taken a loss even at 1000 dollars. As it is they will be making only a small profit on the hardware due to the fact that they included everything except the kitchen sink.

I may not like the idea of paying 300 dollars for a handheld but it isn't like you aren't getting your moneys worth.

Do you have ANY CLUE as to the MILLIONS of people that have never played those games?

You need to learn how to think outside your own world!
