3DS to get Metroid?

The 3DS so far has a great line-up, but it wouldn't hurt for it have an even better one, right? For Metroid fans, nothing could make it better than to have Samus on board that list. Well guess what, they just might be getting what they're wishing for.



It's by no means confirmed by Nintendo, but there is this one resounding tease from Jonathan Ross. He's not a company exec, but he will be the celebrity host at the January 19 event of Nintendo, hosting the 3DS reveal in Amsterdam.



Over at his Twitter page, Ross received the following message from fan darrenkerwin: @Wossy It's absolutely fine, I don't expect you to spill anything, it's nice to have a surprise. I have my fingers crossed for Metroid..."



Ross's reply to this tweet was a very intriguing: "@darrenkerwin I think you're going to be pleased then..." As to what he could be referring to, we can only hope it's a confirmation of a Metroid landing on the 3DS. Till we do hear it officially, though, we're tagging this as rumor.



The Nintendo event happens on January 19th in Amsterdam and New York.

If it were possible I would love for a portable version of the Prime Series in 3D. That would be freaking awesome. That and a new original game.

I have to say, if Metroid were to come to the 3DS I would be sold completely. Metroid is my all time favorite game series. I've played them all except for 2, which I plan to play and beat eventually.

No i wont take that, Metroid Prime Hunters is the most graphically impressive DS game and has a deep online multiplayer with voice chat and some epic dueling

Its only obvious that there will be a metroid on the 3ds nintendo milks all there characters over and over..so expect at least 20 mario spin off,some pokemons,wario, zelda...and all other from the franchise

Super metroid sequel 2.5D(such as donkey kong returns) in 3D made by retro studio's

We do not want another metroid other m, if i can even call it a metroid game...

Prime is nice but it's a backwards in gameplay. I would like to see it, only after the deliver a new good sidescroll metroid.

It if were true why wouldn't Nintendo confirm it? They already released the release lineup.

This wont come out until later. Hopefully it'll be worth it!

I was fairly disappointed with metroid on the DS. It was metrioid, and the controls worked great, but it was otherwise a mediocre release.

Man, please make it 2.5D, not FPS....I hated Hunters, working that dang stylus to aim while hitting those triggers to fire....
