In the same interview, Ono criticized developers who complain about hardware instead of just going ahead and using a gaming platform's full capabilities. To that end, he points to Super Street Fighter IV 3D as a perfect example of just how much power the handheld has.

"I've heard some pessimistic comments on 3DS capabilities before the launch from some game creators but they obviously have not seen Super Street Fighter IV 3D or Resident Evil games on the 3DS," he said.

"With Super Street Fighter IV 3D you will see the best yet graphics on a handheld with specially tuned shaders and effects," said Ono. "I also think those game creators should stop slacking and just start making good games rather than whine about the tools given!"

Super Street Fighter IV 3D is among the launch titles confirmed for the Nintendo 3DS, which will be released in Japan on February 26.

I dunno about "best looking handheld game ever", but Ono certainly has a point.

punk! you're the one working on a 3D version of a 2 year old game that is a clone of a 15 year old game with better graphics

The message of the article was clearly lost on you.

not to start a flame war, but from these screenshots, it looks like even the original psp had better graphics (not all games though)...

It may have to do with the resolution of the 3DS. Nintendo has finally gotten over their "resolutions over 320x240 are taboo" phase, but not by much.

that doesn't look anything like the PS3 or 360's graphics. How did a crazy rumor like that get started?

"With Super Street Fighter IV 3D you will see the best yet graphics on a handheld with specially tuned shaders and effects" This is complete bullshit.

And Ken looks goddamn awful on that SF IV screenshot. Well it's also the graphics fault for looking fugly.

Ono, you obviously missed out on NGP.

And the performance will be halfed by using 3D! The hardware on the ledge of being classed as crap for todays standard. I mean its comparable to iPhone 3GS. Surely Ono and others must have looked at the market and compared the performance with the new or emerging devices! This hardware could be good like 2 years ago but considering the cost of hardware and specially games i would rather wait and invest in NGP specially since it has dual sticks and much nicer screen. Sure its a bit bigger but i would not need to put it in my pocket anyway so i dont mind the bigger size. the gain how ever is i get a nice real touch screen and dual stick plus so so much more.
The game list is also much more appealing to my on NGP already.
I will for sure try the 3DS and see how good it is before i say its crap but just looking at the spec i dont agree with Ono!
I also hate the second resistive screen on 3DS, why the hell they keep it and the pen is just beyond me. Who uses pen in 2011!?!?!?
More importantly how comfortable is it to hold the 3DS with 1 yes 1 hand and use the stylus with other for longer playtime? i guess not so much, this is why i sold my old DS after 2 days of playing mario, it just felt to heavy and not comfortable at all to hold but thats my opinion.

It's called a stylus mate, and it's completely necessary if backwards compatibility is going to work.

No, it isn't. You can play the DS on a computer without a stylus. Why do you need one on the 3DS? Should be more than strong enough to use any other kind of screen to emulate tapping on the bottom screen. In fact, the PSP 1's analog stick could be used on the original DS if you wired it right.

It's not about 'IF it's able to do it' it's about the feel of the original DS. I do not believe that it's necessary per say, as your fingers do the job just as well, but holding a stylus for hours of playing makes it a quite a bit easier (Granted you're going to be glued to a wall charger...)
