Yen Press and Dark Horse to provide manga for iPad |

There's nothing quite like reading out of an iPad, and if you love manga, then you might be thrilled to know that Yen Press and Dark Horse will both be providing their respective content for the iDevice.
Yen Press already has a digital manga distribution service in the form of Yen Plus. By October, they'll be expanding their market to the iPad through their own storefront. “We know that people are keen to get manga on the iPad, and we are keen to provide it,” said founder Kurt Hassler. "We are working with our Japanese licensors to try to get those agreements made, but in the meantime, we are diving in with some of our original works and some Korean series.”
Yen will set the price at US$ 8.99 per volume, which is actually a better deal than the usual US$ 1.99 per chapter.
As for Dark Horse, their services will span across the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Through the Dark Horse Bookshelf app, users may download content at US$ 1.49 per issue. They'll also be experimenting with some special offers like a list of introductory issues that they'll hand out for free, and whole story acrs bundled together for a smaller fee.
The Dark Horse App will be available by January 2011, then it'll sync with the print releases a month after that.

I wish they'd get some manga up onto the PSN.
Also, $8 for a volume IS better than $2 a chapter, BUT you can get most manga volumes for $6 sometimes less.
