It's been more than three years since the release of Virtua Tennis 3, and since that time, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have each released new features to their respective consoles. With the next installment coming up, Sega announced that Virtua Tennis 4 will have support for the motion controls that were previously unavailable to the series.

Since GamesCom back in August, Sony already revealed that Virtua Tennis 4 would be compatible with PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D. Now, Sega has announced that the game will also have support for the Xbox 360's Kinect and Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus.
“Virtua Tennis 4 is a huge push forward for the much loved Sega series,” said Gary Knight, SVP of marketing at Sega. “New technology has allowed for the development of innovative styles of gameplay, meaning Virtua Tennis can reach a level of realism not seen before in the tennis genre.”
As for a release window, Sega has the game scheduled for spring 2011. In the meantime, we can catch our favorite ATP and WTA stars clash in the on-going Australian Open.
