A lot of comparison's been expected and made between the console versions of FFXIII. Now that the game's out, a conclusion should be easily reached, right? Well, for those who did not buy both versions just so they can compare, we've got a video right here to do that for you.

Thanks For the links; But I don't think its fair to compare international version with the Japanese one.

To sum it up:
LOAD DVD vs. Blu-ray :
Blu-ray is obviously winning

LOAD HDD vs. Blu-ray :
Marginal difference.
At some parts Blu-ray is leading and some other the HDD is leading but its a marginal difference.

Those are two different versions of the game, a fair comparison would be either using the Japanese or the American version only.

Okay so the Blur-Ray version might load 3.8 secs quicker but the XBOX 360 version is 3 discs! That means its better! Think of all the exclusive content that we are getting whilst PS3 Blur-Ray version gets a 1 disc basic version. Well done Microsoft, Well done indeed!!

You could probably fit about 6 DVD on a Bluray so the PS3 is the better version if you are looking at it like that.

I think you forgetting that a DL Dvd only has 7.6 gb so three disks only make 23gb but 1 Blu-ray can hold 50gb.

The maximum amount of game data that a disc can hold for a 360 game is 6.8GB due to mandatory copy protection software which is on every disc.

This means that the PS2 and Wii can techinically hold a bigger game than the 360.

WOW... your a idiot! THe 360 version is 3e dvds, becasue of the LACK of storage of a dvd compared to a Blu ray. The 360s total file size is around 18 gigs roughly, where as the PS3 version is closer to 39!!! THERE IS NO "exclusive content" Just WAY more compression,on the 360.. leaading to VERY jagged looking graphics. Yes that is a FACT! also the 360 verson( as ALOT of its games) IS NOT IN HD! Its true native resolution is 576P, and then upscaled to "HD" After 5 dead 360's,,, Ive moved on to a better console!

There is not more content on the 360 version you moron! A blue ray DVD could hold twice those 3 xbox DVD's...
And soon a blueray will be able to hold over 60gb. That is almost 9 times more than a DVD. You might wanna look things up before you talk next time.

You one day everyones gonna be watching Blu-Ray instead of DVD's and us smart people will be running them on a statistically better game console.
By the way, your precious, constantly breaking down Xbox will be physically unable to run games that the PS3 can in a couple years. Because games on the PS3 will need a lot of disc space like Metal Gear Solid and Little Big Planet. Actually, graphics isn't all, the most important part is the story.
When it comes graphics, the xbox 360 generally has better graphics on multi-platform games.
And why is that? It's because it's easier to make a game for xbox 360 than for the ps3, so the ps3 version gets ported, which results in worse graphics.
But when it comes to exclusives the ps3 has better graphics.
And I want you to list all the exclusives that are better than the xbox exclusives and tell me exactly why.

But, seriously to think that 3x DL dvd's have more space than 1x blue ray disc.

The 360 isn't powerful enough to run Crysis 2, which is most likely going to be put on PS3.
Reason? PS3 graphics and processing power are a lot better. Hence pushing the point Sony is infact better.
Oh and thats going to be a PC ported to the PS3. At least it will be physically possible, unlike on the XBox crap!

Should I even say anything or do we all know this guy couldent have gotten it more wrong. Unless he is kidding I never can catch sarcasm on the internet. In case someone thinks this guy is right know that XBOX version comes on 3 DVD that are compressed while PS3 comes on a single 50GB blue ray Un-compressed. Also XBOX runs the game at 576p and PS3 is 720p native both can be upscalled to 1080 though. There were lots of things cut from the game so it would fit on 3 DvD for XBOX read it on Wikipedia under development if you dont believe me. If they dident put the game on XBOX the game would have been longer and more complete.

Theres nothing in the wiki that's says anything was cut from the game.

Other than u/i changes to match buttons the only difference is the compression on the video and audio and the lower resolution.

I will say the PS3 version is better but the 360 versions isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The FMV could have been done better even using DVDs.

I do remember reading an article saying that because the xbox wasn't able to support many features that they wanted to implement, they couldn't put them in the ps3 version either, to stay fair. which sucks major ass. for those of you who think ffxiii isn't as good as it should've been, its the xbox's fault

Don't know about load times but the actual gameplay graphics and sound are way better on the PS3. I have it for PS3 my bro has it for 360. There is quite a big difference as far as pixel smoothness and quality sound.

Yeah, well we all knew the ps3 version would be superior wasnt sure about the loadings though, I was almost sure an HDD load would have been much more faster.

Anyways shit happens, we had it coming, bayonetta for the ps3 sucked balls, ff for the 360 sucked balls.

both games IMO were not GOTY material, too so whatever, moving on

The copy to HDD feature on the 360 is more for reducing noise from the POS dvd-drive than reducing load speeds.

Tests a bunch of games and compares load times. Most times you are only saving a couple seconds per load....and if you do the math and factor in the time you waste copying the dvd...you probably don't save any time at all really.
