If Valve has its way, PS3 owners would be playing co-op with PC gamers when Portal 2 hits.
Valve developer Erik Johnson recently revealed that cross-platform co-op play between Portal 2's PS3 and PC (and Mac) versions is "something the team is gunning for." The possibility was raised after Valve's announcement that Steamworks would be available on PS3.
Johnson's fellow Valve developer Mike Dunkle further confirmed that, "The plan is you will be able to play between console and PC."

Agreed. But wouldn't the PS3 players get their ass kicked because it's so much easier to aim with the mouse;also PC mod and what-not?

Besides, I don't see why players would get their asses kicked in Co-Op?

maybe Valve will be so smart to give it keyboard and mouse support on ps3

PS3 has full support for keyboard n mouse (e.g. Unreal Tournament 3). Valve will most likely implement this. Would be pretty easy to add.

Plus Microsoft allowed Rockstar Social Club for GTA 4 and even PlayOnline for Final Fantasy 11.
It's possible but Valve probably has to pay up quite a bit or create some sort of workaround (like linking your Live account to your Steam account) to get this through.

Quoting John E:
This isn't about how successful Steamworks will be on consoles it's about money. Microsoft wont allow this cause this will be a service free of charge and most likely Valve will try to find a way to make their Source games DLC free which MS wont be too happy with.

I would really, really love to know where they are now. I'd love to know what they'd say in response to all this greatness. Valve are once again waving their magic wand and this time it's at the Playstation.
