Valve: No Half-Life 2: Episode 3 at E3

Valve recently cancelled a Portal 2 appearance at E3 and replaced it with an unnamed "surprise". A few days back, an image proclaiming "Freeman June 14th" started circulating around the net. Does this mean we're finally going to see Half-Life 2: Episode 3 at E3? No.

Gabe Newell, Valve's top honcho, recently told fan site HalfLife2.net that the "Freeman June 14th" image is a flat-out fake. Additionally, Newell also revealed that the "surprise" isn't Episode 3.

Well, E3's just about a week away so we'll get all our answers soon.

It's not Half-life 2 - Episode 3.. it's Half-Life 3!

..or at least it had better be. Makes me sick to think I support Valve by purchasing their games while they just poop on us HL fans for YEARS! I didn't buy L4D2 and I'm not buying the next L4D3 which will probably come out before the next Half-Life game.

Team Fortress 3 will be out before the next Half-Life installment.

Seriously, this better not be L4D3, although at least that would prove I was right not to by L4D2 for this very reason. God I hope it's HL3 after these three years it's more than enough time if they are using even a modified Source engine.

I'm really starting to hate valve. They make great games but I need a new HL I've played them all at least 3 times each. I just don't understand whats taking so long. Its not even a full game!!!!!! Hell they made L4D I&II before they finished episode 3 :C

Valve said around the beginning of this year that nothing Half-Life Ep 3 or HL3 related would be shown at all this year. They're working on TF2 updates and Portal 2 right now.

It would be sick if they released half-life 1 for XBLA arcade. I am dying for for the next chapter in the half-life series but I would settle for a HL 1 port for now.

I heard that Freeman's voice actor (or just actor) died. So they may not make any sequence for hl2 ep2. but THEN they will bankrupt or just go crazy because of fans. PLEASE MAKE 'EM GO CRAZY OF HL3 or EP3 SO THEY WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT TO MAKE THAT GODDAMN GAME!
