Valve hired three ex-Naughty Dog devs

ps3When it comes to the PS3, Valve has hasn't put the best foot forward, would like to, but they want to make sure they're ready and can support it the right way. In short, Valve wants to marry the PS3 and have kids. Daddy Gabe may think she's a waste of time, but Valve is willing to fight in the name of love. In fact, they have three former Naughty Dog developers on their side to help them out.

 

If they couldn't quite support the PS3 as well as they liked back then, then having three devs from Naughty Dog would certainly point them to the right direction. PlayStation Lifestyle checked with some Valve LinkedIn profiles, and these three were found to be from Naughty Dog:

  • Vitaliy Genkin, former senior programmer, roles included "in-game-editor with PS3 run-time support" as well as "different tools for defining / processing / optimizing in-game data".
  • Alex Vlachos, worked with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
  • Elan Ruskin, worked with the Jak & Daxter series

 

With those three in their team, Valve just got a substantial addition of PS3-talent into their arsenal. They've been there for a while now, but it's still not clear if they have a PS3 project just yet. We'll keep our eyes peeled for an update.

They are all working on Valve since august - setember 2006, just read their CV´s.
There is nothing new in here! Just wondering if this is some kind of PR from Valve to regain the love from the PS3 users.

Well, that sucks.

It means they have the talent to do PS3 games, but something is keeping them from releasing games, whether it is Fat Gabes fanboyism or Microsoft's money.

Everything is fine either way Valve goes on the PS3 issue.

Valve games should only be played on PC.

Correction: Valve games should only be played on PC if you want to take advantage of mods. I played HL2 and all it's expansions as well as Portal and TF2 on PS3, as well as on the PC. No difference whatsoever.

i just hope we could see the day come and portal 2 will be on ps3...which i think is very likely... :\ just wish this wwere true... -sigh-...oh well if it isnt...back to playing orange box then!!

been hired since 2007. So Valve had them for atleast 2 years and still refuse to work on PS3. Either those people are working on 360 now or making a major overhual to their engines to work on PS3

those guys have been with valve since 2007 all of them actually helped valve on l4d 1 and 2 its not like they dont work for naughty dog they just also have jobs with valve theres an article somewhere on N4g that confirms this...

Hmmm Valve makes crappy games? Strange, because most of their games were in the top 10 best games of all time for PC Gamer, and Half Life 2 is one of the highest rated games of all time (also worth mentioning is the fact that it ranked number 2 in the top 100).

Valve revolutionized FPS gaming. You're just pissed because Valve won't make games for your 400$ brick. Get steam and buy it for PC. :roll:
