Valve is sick of party games. Well, company writer Chet Faliszek in particular, who recently made his thoughts known to gaming news site CVG.

"Hopefully we've gotten past the point of mini-games," he said. "I'm sick of that [makes arm movement]. That's not a game for me anymore. Let's get some real interaction going."

"We have these technologies now that let us interact in different, really exciting ways. It's developers' jobs to do something with it. Impress me. Don't just make sh*tty games I wouldn't want to play if I had to use a joystick," the writer added.

That's not to say Valve is against the thought of motion control. They just think it should be used for something more. Faliszek describes Natal, for instance, as "really cool". He furthered that it could be incorporated into future Left 4 Dead games, but don't expect it to show us in some "tiresome" mini-game.

I'm with Faliszek on this one. As long as those games sell, however, we'll keep seeing more and more of them.

After reading that I'm left wondering, WTF does anything this guy said have to do with anything important? That would be like me stating, out of nowhere, I hate consoles with blinking lights on them. ????? Who the frack cares? If Valve wants to do more with their games then by all means they are free to do more. Meanwhile what the hell does it matter if smaller devs continue to make fun little party games that groups of people can play together? His comments have no value unless someone is truly interested in the personal opinions of Faliszek.

Does Valve want a room full of 12 people to play Half Life together? That is not reasonable and just plan idiotic.

If the games sell then obviously people like them. Seems to me the majority disagrees with Faliszek.

"That's not a game for me anymore. Let's get some real interaction going."

Um...Valve has been free to get "interaction going" for a LONG TIME NOW. So WTF have they produced that does just that? Nothing. Again, seems to me, like this is a fat load of TALK and no ACTION.

Well said.

Developers need to get off their bitchin asses. Instead of whining like little tars, perhaps they could be developing something they deem worthy of this new technology.

 Isnt that Gabe Newell (dont know if its correct) guy on Valve? This guy is an ***hole that does nothing just criticize Sony, because he (and Valve) doesnt got talent or talented people on there to program for the console, nor have the money to contract people to do the job. Now, they are flamming the casual comunite just because their focus continue to be on programing fps for the old, cheap and easy to program windows. The are sooooo lamm that if i was Sony or Nintendo, doesnt even care if they are on their "team" or not.

"We have these technologies..."

LOL that's funny. So far Valve games hasn't even come close to reaching the peak of today's technology. L4D sucks so much. If they made it into a realistic Zombie survival game then it would have been better. Nazi Zombies was way better than L4D and that was just an extra feature.

Morons. Saying Valve doens't have talent is moronic. Valve is one of the most talented developers in the world, and this is a fact. Just saying Half-Life sucks because you haven't played it is the most moronic thing ever.

Moron.

LAN PARTY (isn't that what TF2/DODs/CSS is ALL about)
And Portal (okay, so it's good, but it's a MINI Game)

They Comment about Mini and Party games, yet they make some of the Best. *contraditction * :-*
