Valve has announced that they are now cancelling the previously announced Pre-E3 event for Portal 2, instead, the company has teased a little "surprise" announcement coming soon. Hmnn, what could it be? A mysterious email sent out by the company reads:

Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise. However, per International treaties regarding the definition of the word "surprise", of which both Aperture Science and Valve are signatories, the time, date and content of the actual surprise will only become available as you experience the surprise.

If you'd like to ask fruitless questions about the E3 Portal 2 surprise or, more fruitfully, schedule an appointment to attend a Portal 2 screening at the Valve booth during E3, please contact Valve's Special Envoy to Surprises, Doug Lombardi.

Thank you for <<RECORD SCRATCH!!!>>

PS: The surprising record scratch is also not the surprise.

it's half life 2 episode 3, i know it.
the only reason they would cancel showing off a great game is to show one that would bring more publicity.

They said HL3 wasn't in the works. If HL3 isn't in the works then Counter Strike and the like probably aren't either. Idk what to think of this.

It could be anything..like a revelation of Valve 2 where all the employees have successfully completed the transition to mutated cyborg game devs ready to launch their ultimate mind control weapon..Steam 2..with Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii integration. Don't be surprised though cuz they already control millions of minds with Steam..God help us all. :-)

Orange box 2, because they were planning for just portal 2, they must of thought "hey lets just do portal 2 along with HL2 EP3" this could explain why we have not had any screens or info on episode 3

Mmmm.... I really think it has to be Half Life 2: Ep. 3, or HL3? Anyway it has to be a real deal, and a big one to cancel the presentation of Portal 2.....

Let's wait and see
