Among the issues mentioned were freezing and dropped connections in multiplayer. Part of the letter reads thusly:

Reading from the back of the game's box, we quote:

"Epic single-player, acclaimed multiplayer and 4 player co-op Zombies"

What this tag line fails to have is the caveat that this only applies if you are playing the Xbox 360 version. None of this will be experienced by the purchaser of the PS3 and PC ports for they do not actually function as intended.

In the open letter, Gamers' Voice game Activision one calendar month to respond to their calls for an explanation and "recompense" for the affected consumers. A response never came so now Gamers' Voice plan to report Activision to the Office of Fair Trading, which enforces both consumer protection and competition law in the UK.

“As a result of their inaction we will test the might of government agencies against Activision," said Gamers' Voice's Head of Industry Relations, Chris O'Regan, in an interview with IncGamers. "We can only hope this brings about some litigious action. These agencies do exist to protect our rights as consumers, let us see if they can fullfill their remit on this pressing issue."

I'm inclined to agree with O'Regan's belief that Activision's reply will just be a rebuttal. It would be interesting to see what happens if this complaint does turn into a full government investigation though.

Its great that something is being done, even if its just some noise. I can't see Activision taking this seriously since they'll likely have massive legal advice/lawyers on their part and some form of loophole to get them out of trouble.

Even if they're found to have been selling incomplete games, how can Activision compensate millions of gamers?

when black ops first came out everything was fine, but after the holiday season, everything has gone to crap. it's ridiculous.
i've gotten so frustrated i actually bought medal of honor and started playing that. great game, none of the problems that black ops has.

iw made great job on COD4 PC then ported to console after that Activision become greed and need more money so they ordered IW to produce a COnsole game , and as u knew IW is made most buy old school gamer and moders , so they chose to leave ,

tryarche have nothing to do with COD , they just produce a game when IW make the real COD .

Wow, how is it dead? It's getting a lot of games this upcoming weeks months. What is xbox getting? The only thing that it's worth looking at is Gears of War 3 and that doesn't come out till November.

How many hundreds of even more buggy games have been released this year? Did they make such a big deal out of those games too? No. And yeah Activision are greedy f*ckers but this is just a game like any other, and you can't blame them because the game's so successfull and people make a target out of it. But still i do think with all the money they shovelling in from it they should be working harder getting these issues sorted.
