What better way to put into high gear the relaunch of the Driver series but with a new teaser video for it? That's exactly what Ubisoft did, along with the debut of its official countdown site.

Something seems to be happening next Monday too as the countdown points to 5PM PDT on June 14 -- you know, Ubisoft's pre-expo press conference for E3/

Whether the game will be any good is anyone's guess, but everyone who played the original Driver game should get a nostalgic thought when watching this. We all remember having to do those challenges in the underground car park on the original game. A very good teaser in my opinion (but maybe not so good for people who have never played the original).

Also, sort your grammar out QJ, it's spelt "site", not "sight" when referring to a website. :D

This brought me a lot of nostalgia. I really hope they get it done right this time and make Driver as exciting as it once was.

I agree that for the people who haven't played this game before this teaser may leave them clueless or they may think this is a racing game.

I hope they bring Tanner back. This brings back so many memories of the first game, damn tutorial mission lol. This game should be nothing but driving, or at least 90% driving if they're gonna implement on-foot segments again.

Driver 2 is actually one of the games that really got me into gaming. I wasn't allowed to have a gaming system back then so I would go over to my friend's house all the time to play it.

It's painful to play now, but it was so much fun back then. I remember one time I was in a station wagon and was doing really well at getting away from the cops. After flying over one of those bridges in the city (not a draw bridge) I managed to flip over had the most epic camera angle ever as I somehow landed upside down on a wall next to the water or whatever and all of the cop cars slam into the wall. Being upside down on the wall and seeing and hearing all the cop cars dieing as they smashed the wall made me LMAO.

yea i remember doing those challenges lol, but unfortunately the driver series went down the toilet, GTA has better driving making the name "driver" seem stupid, hell the getaway had better driving

i seriously hope they get it right this time

Wow that sure brings back memories, the beginning sure reminded of the intro in Driver 1. When I saw the barriers it instantly reminded me of the training mission. Hopefully this game has 4 cities since all these modern "sandbox" games have had only one.

# Is this a remake?kupomogli 2010-06-13 05:45
Like others have mentioned it's extremely reminiscent of the parking garage of the original. I'm assuming it'll be a remake. If it is that'll be awesome.

Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. All cities in HD, developed true to life where every city is nearly road for road.

While I think Driver 2 sucks, I'm a fan of the rest of the games, even Driver 3. The best of them being Parallel Lines and then Driver 76 after. If you ask me the GTA series is a joke compared to Driver, atleast until GTA4 came out which is amazing.

Here's hoping Driver can surpass GTA4. Please have good a good camera and make the game simulation based instead of arcade. That's all I ask.
