The UAE is dead serious in curbing the exposure of their citizens to the games they deem to be violent. The latest game to be included in their ban list is Capcom's zombie-killer Dead Rising 2.

A local distributor for Capcom has confirmed that UAE has banned the game due to "violence, gambling and nudity." The inclusion of alcohol use is also one of the reasons why the state is not letting it in their borders.

You shall not pass!

The same source is claiming that Capcom is trying to appeal the decision but as with all the other games that had been hit by UAE's banhammer, this move appears to be unlikely.

They're not missing anything good anyways. As long as they don't ban the great gems.

lol, its not games thats the problem over there. Then the same can be said about everywhere else.

What makes me laugh is that if you look through history now is probably the safest people have ever been, yet they try to blame new things like games for the bad people, who history proves have always been here.

I am entitled to my own opinion, and I've read the Koran as it is a FREE app in the apple store. Fact is, that if you look up the definition of Islam it means submission. Submission by any means? Yes. UAE does much worse things than some polygons on screen killing other polygons. Its fictious, and if you're that dumb that you can't destinguish between reality and a video game you shouldn't be playing video games, watching movies or listening to music to begin with.

it seems that you are the clever one judging UAE for banning this game and through reasons from here and there to others holly book and religion (Holly Quran and Muslims I mean in case you are not that clever).
Yes Islam is "SUBMISSION TO GOD" not just submission, and i think that every one believe in god is submitting to him.

but i agree with you in one thing, i do not understand why they ban these games!!
But in any case, you have wrong ideas about Muslims, "there are Bad Muslims yes". but this does not give you the right to attach all Muslims and the holly Quran or any other holy book since they are coming from the same God.

I'm sure that the only change that will occur from banning Dead Rising 2 is that people are going to go from buying it to pirating it.

They'll just import or download, simple as that.

UAE is being ridiculous, banning so many games for unreasonable excuses. Jeez..
