60 million is a nice round number, don't you think? Sony and Polyphony Digital are loving that number right now, seeing as how the Gran Turismo series has just broken that particular sales milestone.
After 12 years and 11 months, the entire Gran Turismo series has now sold around 61.2 million units worldwide. The most copies sold worldwide belongs to Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, but considering Gran Turismo 5 has only been out for 12 days before the numbers were collated it's still doing pretty good at more than 5.5 million units sold.
Here's the breakdown of the numbers in million units:

- Gran Turismo 2 - 9.34
- Gran Turismo 3 A-spec - 14.80
