Tekken 7 already in development

Are you ready for another King of Iron Fist Tournament? The next Tekken title has reportedly been announced earlier this week at an event in Madrid.

According to Eurogamer Portugal, series director Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that development on Tekken 7 has already started. Not really that much of a surprise, seeing as how all the previous titles sold well.

It's possible that we'll see it in some form at next month's E3 although it may only be a trailer as Harada mentioned that it's still in the early stages of development.

Somewhat of an exaggeration, but even I will admit that tekken 6 will likely be the last tekken that will be buying. Why...?

The bosses are getting more and more retarded
The graphics, while better the street fighter by light years, were still disappointing
The new characters are worse and worse
All of the characters are becoming less and less balanced
Tekken force mode *now called scenario campaign) is required

All of these things on top of the fact that the fighting game genre is pretty much dead. Was fun while it lasted tho.

How are they better? its a different style of art. sf doesn't want to be realistic looking and doesnt try but what it does try and be it does very well, tekken want to look realistic and doesn't. So if anything sf has better graphics because the devs succeed at their goal.

Hard work went a long way in this game and thats why I used to be the number 100 steve :) but I slowley got tired of the game when the newer titles came out. If they fix the connection issues and the lag problems I will def buy this game.

Initially, I thought I was the only that cared or noticed that they changed Bryant's laugh. It went from a cool, evil laugh to some cheesy cackle. Smh... But I agree that Tekken Tag was one of the best installments thus far. And on the whole graphics issue, I think it's definitely in the eye of the beholder. Street Fighters' graphics are more "artistic" in nature, whereas Tekken holds a realistic view with which I feel they do an excellent job. The story, unfortunately, suffered greatly with each successive entry. The best endings had to be 2,3, and Tag.

Tekken 6 is unbalanced as hell. I think it was partly because they wanted to make the game accessible to everyone(hence why they went multi-platform), so they made characters easy to pick up and own with(Alisa -_-). Also I think the bound system kinda threw everything off balance by giving characters who have no business juggling the ability to juggle. I just hope for Tekken 7 they release 10 rounds of open betas to ensure the game is balanced this time around.

I don't know why people didn't like tekken 6, it's actually the best one I've played, the bound system was good and tekken 6 was more balanced unlike the previous tekken games where 3 hits of phoenix smasher = dead (lol tekken 3)

the only thing flawed in tekken 6 is why the hell did they make asuka uglier?

bring her original tekken 5 character detail and improve it in tekken 7!

Don't get me wrong, I like the bound system too, but I just don't think people like Law, Paul and Bryan who are powerful enough as it is should be able to juggle on par with true jugglers lik Ling Xiaoyu.

If you think WE don't know what Tekken is all about, you need to go play a few rounds of Tekken 3 (the high point in the series) or Tekken Tag (slightly refined version of 3 with more characters and with Tag team option added).

When Tekken 5 came out, I thought they might be back on the right track (except for stupid freakin' Jinpachi--I want playable characters like Ogre for bosses, dammit! Quit trying to be Dead or Alive: nobody plays those games for the fighting!) But then 6 happened. Ugh.

I love tekken and have been a fan since tekken 2..most people who complain about this,game more than likely suck at it.I'm almost unchallenged when it comes to Nina Williams,Lili,Z afina and Lars,I've only been beatin by 4 people in my entire life and they are fucking awesome.I agree to some things though..all characters shouldn't be juggling,the bosses are odd and the story lines don't add up.I do think tekken tag should come back.Characters like ganryu,kuma,pan da,mokujin& roger need to take a long hike...i prefer unknown over them and as a boss. they should install:
1.smoother grabs
2.more personality
3.more grabs
4.at least one air grab and wall grab per character
5.more clothing options(especia lly for my ninakins)
6.more game modes
7.and two player profile loading...wtf

Tekken not as fun as it used to be. I used to play it for hours. Now even with Tekken 6, it just doesn't seem to go the direction it should be taking. It is very repetitive and should have more personality with the characters. Also I do agree that the final bosses are pretty out of hand. Tekken 4 had the worst boss though. I wish they can make a fighter that has more to it. Even as you play through it, the rewards are lame. Tekken 3 was probably my favorite. Some of the series had a terrible soundtrack but Tekken 6 is somewhat better in the right direction. I wish that the cinematics were not so corny either. Another thing is they did not make the fighters as detailed as I thought they were going to. When they have more than 2 on screen at a time, you know they did not fully make them maxxed out with the polygons that they should have.

actually, TTT also didn't have any walls. I think tekken 3 lost its soul after 4. Five had way too many characters which completely ruined the balance i think. many didn't like 4 (yeah it had bugs) but it had some pretty cool music. For me tekken 2 and 3 were the best. Hmmm, Tekken 6 is great. Its just not absolutely fantastic o_o like the other ones. Im not bad at the game at all. I been #1 asuka many times but due to its incredible lag i always demote. The game is not so good, when you get to champion rank and higher you fight the same people OVER @ Over again or you'll never find an opponent around your rank. Story line was really weak and the arcade could of been WAY better. The first are computers (i can just fight a computer in practice mode). then you fight your rank but of course you can't rank offline. Boss is pretty gay they should of had a secret human boss instead of a dragon. I really hope tekken 7 improves, please fix the lag so we can have a bigger variety of people to play

I have tekken 2, 4 and 5 and the best one is probably the 5th out of them, but of course the new tekken always has to be better in quality and gameplay. So in my opinion i think tekken 6 br is better than all the rest. I don't have that game but i only liked it because of the quality and the new properties that got placed in. So i just wish that tekken 7 is better quality, has every character that was in any tekken games no matter how many moves they have and has everything that the other games have like bowling. Also include things like optional online arcade and a better scenario campaign. Don't forget, Japan was the one that created this game which means that Japan is one of the talanted and cleverest countries out there. So go tekken 7!!!!!

I don't have tekken 6 br neither , but i really love it. I want every single character that was in all tekken games so like jun in tekken 7. Also, it was a complete shame that the previous game, was not playable on ps2 and that put me off because i was urging to get that game. What is the difference between a ps2 & 3? I mean literally, all you need is arrow and shape buttons for a tekken game. What is the point? Now it's made me get a ps3, because the games that i still want aren't playable on ps2. My first game was 4 when I was little. I went back and played the others as well but 4 is one of my favs along with tag, 5 then 3. 2 and 1 were also pretty good and Devil was awesome. I liked 4's mysterious story and devil within was good on 5. I don't like the story mode on 6 and their should be more fun modes like bowling or volleyball. I enjoy all of the Tekkens though and will definitely be owning 7.

Hi Everybody, i am a Tekken fans, till Tekken 5, i really enjoyed myself playing online with others fighters from all around the world, you could look for a room according level, you level up approxiamtely every 10000 thousand fight points etc... but now Tekken 6 oh my god you can't chose your opponents, you dont know how to level up, this is a mess. I really hope Tekken 7 comes up very soon and correct this matter... For now enjoy yourself with Tekken 6.

I really enjoy the feud between Hwaorang and Jin. Hwaorangs cutscene at the end of Tekken 5 hyped me up for a huge battle between the two and Tekken 6 shrugged it off. Annoyed me a bit!

I also think the Mishima feud is being taken to the extreme now with the introduction of Lars, was pretty cool but FAR fetched.

I just hope they make stories and cutscenes worth playing for in 7. Even stories in arcade mode cause scenario mode isn't the best!
