Teen kills adoptive mother for not paying Internet bills

This horrific incident is simply beyond words. A 15-year-old Romanian boy stabbed his adoptive mother to death after she refused to pay the Internet bills. The boy, Ionut, is addicted to online video games.

It was said that Ionut stabbed his adoptive mother 17 times when she decided to stop paying the bills. This was so he would cut down the time he was spending in front of the computer playing his games. What is even more disturbing about this incident, however, is that a mere three hours after the killing, Ionut left the home and headed to an Internet cafe to play Counter-Strike.

Meanwhile, the husband of the victim found her dead in their home and subsequently reported the incident to the cops. Ionut, later on, turned himself voluntarily to the authorities, calmly telling them that "I think I'm the one you're looking for."

Ionut has been admitted to an underground psychiatric clinic in a local hospital. Test will be conducted to determine his pyschological state, and if found that he was fully competent when the crime was committed, he could face up to 12 years in prison for the murder.

It's interesting that whenever weird cases like this pop up nobody seems to take the time to examine the family life of the child. And I mean *behind closed doors*. To a kid who has been placed in a horrific situation, escapism may be the only thing they have to get them through life. Basically: it may *seem* crazy, but his response becomes more and more acceptable if you consider the possibility that *perhaps* his parents subjected him to psychological torture beforehand. Taking his internet access away may have only been one in a series of many actions whose sole purpose was to cause emotional harm to the kid. Emotional abuse is still abuse, I say. I'm not saying there aren't nutjobs out there who will kill a parent over something so stupid, but maybe we aren't getting the full picture in these cases. Either way: hopefully the impending investigation yields something conclusive one way or the other.

First, unrelated to you post, I'd like to clarify something: His parents ADOPTED him. So it's not his own mother or even step-mother. Most likely he was from some 3rd world country or a so called war-child.

Now for the actual reply: And beyond that, his life in general. Being adopted he most likely has a different skin-colour compared to his "parents" and got bullied a lot on school, unable to fit in somewhere in general. Doesn't make it right, mind you.

Also: not paying for the internet bills is hardly a way to make someone cut down on playing online, to which he was addicted: It's killing it! (no pun intended). Also, the "only 12 years" is because he'll be judged as a minor (different punishments).

There are just too many unknown variables to simply dismiss this case as a nut-job.

Bitchy mother or not, he was still adopted regardless, it just shows how much she cares and loves him, despite all of that, he wasn't grateful.

This is the kind of thing that just merits a death penalty..
It's ridiculous to kill anyone over anything really.
Some here may justify his actions because they would deem the mother's action as "abuse" or that his parents at some point "abused" him.

But please, use some common sense.
If the kid was adopted, that would mean the parents should be fairly capable of managing a kid to the point that they won't resort to such methods, not just that, but there are organizations that monitor this kind of things, even school.
Though that doesn't prevent it from happening, this shit is just retarded out of his part and I wish he dies.

If not, then let him suffer the most gruesome moments of his pathetic life in prison.
