Takeuchi: I won't be involved in Resident Evil 6

Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi is not too keen getting on board the Resident Evil 6 wagon, or anymore new projects for the franchise. At least "until at least two more Olympics have passed", to be exact.

 

 

 

Talking to Xbox World 360 magazine, the famed Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 producer conceded that he felt "extreme pressure" following in the footsteps of RE4 creator, Shinji Mikami.

"Yes, it's true we did feel extreme pressure - and Mikami'san's shadow - after Resi 4. However, because we were creating the sequel to this huge franchise we wanted to make our fresh direction clear."

 

 

 

 

Resident Evil 5 turned out alright, as we all saw. This, however, is not enough a deciding factor for him to return for the next one. "Personally, I don't think I'm gonna deal with Resident Evil 6 at all - as far as the series is concerned I'm not planning to return until at least two more Olympics have passed!"

 

 

 

 

That's a long while to be resting from the series, but hey, maybe when he decides to come back, he'll make an even better contribution to the franchise. If it's still alive by that time, that is.

I do not like the RE4 and 5 direction.
I want to kill Zombies in Resident Evil not whatever the crap the creatures in RE5 are.

I want Resident Evil to be a horror game like it used to be, not an Action/Adventure game.

to me, resident evil isn't resident evil anymore. 5 was lame period. degeneration was poor, and although 4 was awesome, it wasn't scary.

The original Resident Evil 4 was scary but they changed because the people that tested it were freaked out by the game so much that they didnt want to play it again so then they changed it to the third version which is the one we got and changed that game into Devil May Cry which isnt scary

Of course resi will still be alive.... if it's not, they could bring it bk from the dead no problem.... that is the whole point of the game after all.... they could just re-make resi 2 n I'd be happy.

I believe he shouldn't return for 6 but help remake some of the old classics that'd be awesome and no i am not talking about rail shooters and OTS shooters i am talking about the good ol surviver box horror

the new zombies are way too smart. If a zombie is trying to kill me with an assault rifle, it's like playing a 3rd person FPS. Not scary

resident evil 5 is joke very far from the Shinji Mikami's one , they menaged to make a true beat-em-all with the resident evil characters , hope they try a resident evil remake for hd console before the 6th just to make people remember what is a residnet evil game and what skills u need to finish it ( sure not press A or B ) .

No it's RE1----->RE3. 4 and 5 were jokes. Very fun to play jokes but jokes non-the-less.
