Supercard confident in cracking 3DS protection |

Nintendo is loading up the 3DS with a host of anti-piracy measures including automatic firmware updates. Flashcart manufacturer Supercard is unfazed, however.
According to GBATemp admin Costello, who claims to have spoken with the Supercard team, the company believes that the onboard CPU found in its DSTWO cart will be able to help them circumvent whatever protection the 3DS has.
That's just for the standard DS mode at least. The actual 3DS side is another story. Supercard has intimated, however, that they'll be working on a 3DS flashcart as soon as they get their hands on the handheld.

It will allow for Wii Preloader-like homebrew, which lets you block out firmware updates and the like. This will also lead to further homebrew developments and softmods, and will allow us to play pirated 3DS from the very 3DS itself (the SD card slot). Supercards and similiar business will be unnecessary. Save game exploits will be enough.

How many times has Nintendo said they will give *^&%&$#$ security to the DSi and DS XL etc. ? How many firmware upgrades has Nintendo released for the DSi to prevent piracy?
If I go to the store and buy a DSi XL i can hack it right away, while Nintendo has the posibillity to release a firmware upgrade.

The graphics are like PS2 (not bad, they're quite good) and it hasn't got an HDMI output but instead Euro/SCART.
With the composite cable Wii's able to get better video/audio quality (I suppose so).
About 3DS, that's high quality, I'm just waiting to know what's the retail/true price of 3DS before anything else.
3DS hopefully will receive a proper Burnout for Nintendo's hand-held because the version for DS sucked, poor graphics and gameplay wasn't good.
I hope I don't get called "troll" again, but it's funny when they do.

I think his point was that the system isn't considered hi-tech (quality was a poor choice of words in that case), but the quality of software is better than on the higher-tech systems.
I'm not sure I agree with him, though. If by "high quality," he means it's coded well, then sure, I guess, but I'm not terribly impressed with the overall quality of Wii games outside a few of the exceptional first party ones (and even those aren't really my taste). But then, maybe I'm a bit tough on the Wii 'cuz I don't like its controller--it's so imprecise that I feel like I have to fight with it to get it to do what I want.

If the Wii's standard is not to your liking then....move along.

How would it be illegal? They aren't doing anything to you. Unless you count blocking your illegal activity? Good luck taking them to court for that one!

Either way, "Nintendo is loading up the 3DS with a host of anti-piracy measures including automatic firmware updates."
We only heard about automatic updates so what else is there to qualify the comment HOST OF ANTI-PIRACY MEASURES?
"this whole 'industry' is too secretive and no one will let me get anywhere near the production line."
That is hilarious!!!! That is a fat bowl of ignorance right there. These guys do not have their own factories. They outsource all their production.
They would need to speak to the board makers to setup a tour of which, they would easily be able to get one. That would be like asking Dell for a tour of how Intel CPUs are made....

Watching Avatar 3D on 3DS? That would be interesting.
Although Avatar 3D isn't yet out and P2P's have made fake versions of it. The movie itself isn't anything special but the CGI is.

If an update doesn't work, then supercard lost their confidence
