Street Fighter IV players will get something "special" when Super comes out

If you already have Street Fighter IV, will a few new characters be enough for you to spend US$ 40 on Super Street Fighter IV? Unlike the path Capcom took with Resident Evil 5, players won't have the option to get the extra content via DLC, which would suck quite a lot considering the prospect of paying another forty bucks for essentially the same game. So what's in it for the original SF4 owners?

"The problem is that it gets a new title ID, which means no cross-play with the original consumers," said Capcom's Christian Svensson, explaining the difference between the two titles.

Fortunately for those who have Street Fighter IV, Capcom has some form of reprieve in the works. "...we haven’t announced it, but for those who have purchased and played Street Fighter IV on the system that they play this on, there will be a nifty little special set of things that those people will have the option of enjoying that others won't," said Svensson.

Super Street Fighter IV hits retail on April 27th in North America.
