StarCraft 2 official system requirements revealed

Getting ready for a Zerg rush? Better make sure your PC meets these StarCraft 2 system requirements then.

 

The recommended requirements are final, but Blizzard notes that due to "potential programming changes", the minimum requirements may change over time.

 

Minimum System Requirements:

 

  • PC: Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 (Latest Service Packs) with DirectX 9.0c
  • 2.6 GHz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
  • 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT or ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card or better

 

  • Mac: Mac OS X 10.5.8, 10.6.2 or newer
  • Intel Processor
  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT or ATI Radeon X1600 or better

 

  • PC/Mac: 12 GB available HD space
  • 1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista/Windows 7 users, 2 GB for Mac users) 
  • DVD-ROM drive 
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • 1024X720 minimum display resolution

 

Recommended Specifications:

 

  • PC: Windows Vista/Windows 7 
  • Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor 
  • 2 GB RAM 
  • 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better

 

  • Mac: Intel Core 2 Duo processor 
  • 4 GB system RAM 
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT or ATI Radeon HD 4670 or better

Mine almost reaches the recommended (only a 320mb 8800 gts card, but quad core 2.4 and 4gb ram somewhat makes up for it)

Yeah, well, that's Blizzard for you. They're always trying to make a product that most people can play, even on sub-standard PCs, unlike Crytek.

Now u mustn't compare an FPS to an RTS..but still its true, Bliz don't require rigs that make u sell ur kidney to get and neither do they pull that stupid/Epic Fail DRM bs like one Canadian company we all know.. :zzz

Woot i meet the system requirements just fine, that is some decent requirements though. My friend may be able to play it after all.

My basic specs

win7 pro 64bit
6-core Phenom at 3.2ghz
4gb drr3
2 gtx470's
2 tb's worth of HD space, and one 128gb ssd 8)

My 6 years old computer is above minimum, but I kinda figured that as I've played the beta. Just don't expect playing 3v3 or 4v4 with minimum requirement. I'm pretty sure you at least recommended or better to run that at a good frame rate with high graphics up. (I believe it's a lot more dependent on the CPU then Video Card, simply due to the amount of calculations from the amount of units.)
