Shortly after the scheduled launch of SpaceX Falcon 1, the on board camera showed the vehicle beginning to rollover and then the video signal was lost at 5:30pm est.
An official statement was released at 6:26 pm Est by Elon Mush the founder of SpaceX.
We had a successful liftoff and Falcon made it well clear of the launch pad, but unfortunately the vehicle was lost later in the first stage burn. More information will be posted once we have had time to analyze the problem."
There is not much information as to why the Falcon 1 rocket
failed but apparently it fell back to Earth about 40 seconds after
liftoff.
