Sony to launch loyalty rewards program |
Listed in: PSP, PS3 Tags: playstation plus, playstation rewards, Sony
If being a PlayStation Plus subscriber doesn't make you loyal enough, Sony will be launching a new program to reward loyal consumers for their patronage. Through this initiative, players may earn additional perks, opportunities, and recognition for spending more for all things PlayStation.
PlayStation Rewards will be launching tomorrow as an invitation-only beta for select PlayStation Plus subscribers and Gamer Advisory Panel (GAP) members in the US. You won't have to do anything special to earn points - just purchase and play new games, download content from the PlayStation Store, or participate in surveys and such.
There are three tiers to set you apart from the rest - Select, Pro, and Legendary. The higher the tier, the more benefits you get. So far, the benefits include:
- Exclusive PSN avatars that display member status in the program
- Exclusive dynamic themes and PlayStation Home content
- Opportunities throughout the program year to participate in members-only sweepstakes and giveaways for experiences and merchandise you won’t find elsewhere (The first of which is an all expenses paid trip to the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, as PlayStation’s guest)
Sony will be improving the new program depending on feedback, so we might be seeing more out of this in the future.

they lost ALOT of customers with the downgrades
thats what yall dont understand
they bit the hands that fed them and people went to 360 because of it
when i bought my first ps3, i bought it because of the primise that i would be able to use it as a computer when im not using it to play games, they took that from me, but NOT right away, they waited until i spent ALOT of hard earned money on a FEW ps3's
and for those who DONT know
the u.s. military purchased some of them as well in big numbers for the same reason
and sony STILL did it (so we're TOLD)
hard to tell if its truth coming from our government or not
sony prolly did something special for those systems
