Sony refuses comment on PlayStation Phone |

With the image and specs of the PlayStation Phone surfacing earlier, Engadget digs up more info on the rumored gaming phone. At first, SCEE reps replied that "These images are definitely fake." Now, both SCEE and SCEA have changed their stand to the ever-familiar spiel: "We do not comment on rumors or speculation."
Citing "multiple, trusted sources", Engadget reports that the device doesn't run on Android 3.0 just yet. It's still just 2.X for now. Sources also indicated that the PlayStation Phone is known internally as "Zeus". "...we're not just talking good tipsters," explained Engadget. "some of our information comes from people much more closely connected to the project."
The PlayStation Phone in the photos we ran last night, and the device reported on back in August is most definitely real. We're not saying that because we want to believe or because we're gingerly trying to nab pageviews: we're saying it because we know it to be true.
Now that Sony has given their take on the matter, it doesn't look like we'll be getting any more info out of them - that is until announcement time. For now, however, this post will still be getting the rumor tag.

It doesnt have that suave edge that most Sony products have. It looks like one of those cheesy chinese phones you get imported on the net. And, it usually arrives at your house already broken.

i honestly dont think this phone looks that bad, replace the S above the touch pad with a playstation logo and the picture of the back looks intentionally blacker than the rest of the phone, as if covering up a logo on the back (where engadget is on the black). also as stated, this is a prototype phone, stating possibly hand built or small batch made. so of course there are cosmetic issues with it and i'm sure it will have a slightly different look.
hopefully the specs once announced are better though, then this will probably end up replacing my nexus one.

For example, you slide the screen and you get the PS controls. Slide the screen down and you reveal a full QWERTY keyboard (and the screen would rotate to accomodate [not like a sidekick; just software flip]).

N-Gage a failure? As a gaming device it was pretty good but as a mobile phone it sucked.
