It's not quite as many as the free games being offered in Europe, but PSP Go buyers in North America are also getting a few free game downloads.

If you buy a PSP Go from today until March 31, 2011, you get three free game downloads as part of Sony's PSP Go Digital Game Pack. A PSN voucher will be emailed to those who qualify.

No game list this time, just an US$ 80 value mentioned on the US PS blog. I guess this means you can presumably download any game released on the Store before March 11, 2011.

It's just three games but at least there are more to choose from.

:eek:
My son got one of these for Christmas - 16 days later, and I still don't have the games. The box says 7 days, I emailed them, they then said 7-10 days, then when that elapsed, they changed it (via email) to 10-14 days. We're at 16 days and my son still doesn't have these games. It's their way of making you spend money on games while you're waiting for the games they supposedly were supposed to include. I will never buy anything Playstation again.

# Hmm..zzk2001 2010-06-02 11:40
My only guess on why they are doing this is that the PSP2 is just like the Go with no UMD or media type, Just download only, And if that is true May god help us all.... lol :lol:

yeah probably will..the go wasnt to replace the 3000 but run along side with it..and that never happens to models running against 1 another...in my opinion the Go was just an experiment on how it would be accepted by us the consumers,homeb rew society and so far there has been breaking the psp go to fully run homebrew and iso so they kinda have a winner for now..muhahaha :P

i mean think about they say the psp problem is piracy why bring the nxt generation to go dwn the same path???

As a PSP developer - I really, REALLY doubt the next model will be download only. Every studio that I work with and even our own titles get a lot more sales on UMD than on the PSN. It's a great backup service for games that are impossible to get on UMD though.

I seriously would put money on the PSP2 having an optical drive. The PSN, peoples net connections and storage limitations are not ready for this yet.

This is the Australian offer taken from the EU PlayStation blog:

"If ever there was an incentive to take the plunge and buy a PSPgo, then here it is: if you buy or have bought one between 1 April 2010 and 30 September 2010 then you can download 10 top titles fromPlayStation Store, absolutely free.

gt_psp_incentiv e_thumb_on_psp_ store

The games on offer are:

* Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines
* Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
* Gran Turismo
* James Cameron’s AVATAR
* LittleBigPlanet
* MotorStorm Arctic Edge
* Need for Speed SHIFT
* Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
* 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
* WipEout Pure

*This list varies depending on your country; please see the terms and conditions for further details.

For more details including full terms and conditions and the list of games for your country, visiteu.playstation.com."

..

"1. Looks like Sony has opened the flood gates. The question for me is: Is this an effort to resuscitate or eliminate the psp go?

# The US Region is getting screwed by sony again.lovehate 2010-06-02 14:08
Maybe you can log in with a EU account first and claim your 10 games before creating or logging in with US PSN account for the lame 3 game offer. Of course you will have to be logged in to the EU account to play them and log into your US account to play the US Games purchased. The US Region is getting screwed by sony again. They sure hate americans. Bleed us they will.

that's true! wtf sony, i told my bro about free games,

unlike europe, US has to be cheap and not only cut 7 games off but also only give it to the people who buy it today and on?

damn sony, whatever, not as if there's many games to choose from or care about, last game i've got on psp was Kingdom Hearts that's the last thing i'm ever gonna get from them

that and the ridiculous pricing of download games (same as real-life-games even though there is no materials or shipping costs and $0 resale value) made PSP Go one of the worst purchases I have ever made.

even above the 3 pix on the box, it says "$80 VALUE".

Purchased a PsPGo on the 6th, went home and went home, connected through my existing Playstation network account and never got an email from Sony for my 3 free games. What it actually says is "receive a game voucher worth $80 for LittleBigPlanet ™, Ratchet and Clank®: Size Matters and SOCOM: FireTeam Bravo 3 via email" at http://us.playstation.com/psn/events/pspgodigitalgamepack.html and on my box.

I still haven't got the email. Sony is a real piece of shit. I gave my kid the PSP for Christmas and I figured it'd get the games immediately. Guess not...

You know why they do this right? So that you'll have nothing to play until and you'll be forced to buy something else in the meantime. Thing is my kid only wants Little Big....... WTF! Get your shit together sony.

# Figured it out but NO MORE SONYShame_on_Sony 2011-01-30 15:02
What a bunch of CRAP. SHAME on you SONY. I searched their e cust svc and found you have to opt in to receive their marketing - once you get the email with voucher you can opt back out. This SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT. SONY needs to understand MY TIME IS VALUABLE and I really don't need this crap just to get my kids game doing something their box said it would. I WILL NOT FORGET THIS as I make future purchasing decisions.

Here's what I dug up at http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=2058

To receive the emailed voucher you must:

* Either create a new PlayStation Network account on the new PSPgo, or just sign-in on the new PSPgo with your existing PlayStation Network account.
* After completing the first step, you will need to activate the PSPgo for games. On the XMB, go to PlayStation Network icon (PlayStation Network) > Account Management icon (Account Management) > System Activation icon (System Activation). Highlight “Game” and press the X button icon button.
* Next, you will need to “Opt In” to receive notifications from Sony Computer Entertainment (“SCE”). On the XMB, go to PlayStation Network icon (PlayStation Network) > Account Management icon (Account Management) > [Account Information] > [Notification Preferences]. At this point, you will need to check the box that says, “Yes, I am interested in receiving materials from Sony Computer Entertainment.” Once you receive your voucher code, you can change this preference if you do not wish to receive emails from SCE.

Emails with the voucher codes will be sent out within 5 to 7 business days, but may take up to 14 business days in some instances. Only consumers that purchase the PSPgo "Digital Game Pack" are eligible to receive the emailed voucher.

# Called SONYShame_on_Sony 2011-01-30 15:11
Called SONY customer support and the gentleman that helped me was very polite and knowledgeable...but seemed all too familiar with what needed to be done. He very quickly pointed out that BOTH boxes on the marketing info tab have to be checked and it will take 14 business days for the vouchers to come to my email. When I asked why this critical information could not be made clear right on the box he said theres a card in the box with all this laid out. I said I followed EXACTLY the instructions on the insert and this was not part of it. He apologized - although I think he knows the information is not there given his admission this is a very common oversight. Obviously this poor guy was not the genius that decided to set up this game, hes just the one that has to deal with frustrated people like me. So I explained to him he did a good job I implored that he communicate to his company that manipulative hoops like these are going to do nothing but alienate current customers from making future decisions. My time is valuable and they will now pay the price. I'M DONE WITH SONY.
