Sony giving away free games with PSP Go in US |
Listed in: PSP Tags: promo, psp go, pspgo, Sony
Ó

It's not quite as many as the free games being offered in Europe, but PSP Go buyers in North America are also getting a few free game downloads.
If you buy a PSP Go from today until March 31, 2011, you get three free game downloads as part of Sony's PSP Go Digital Game Pack. A PSN voucher will be emailed to those who qualify.
No game list this time, just an US$ 80 value mentioned on the US PS blog. I guess this means you can presumably download any game released on the Store before March 11, 2011.

My son got one of these for Christmas - 16 days later, and I still don't have the games. The box says 7 days, I emailed them, they then said 7-10 days, then when that elapsed, they changed it (via email) to 10-14 days. We're at 16 days and my son still doesn't have these games. It's their way of making you spend money on games while you're waiting for the games they supposedly were supposed to include. I will never buy anything Playstation again.

I seriously would put money on the PSP2 having an optical drive. The PSN, peoples net connections and storage limitations are not ready for this yet.

"1. This promotion is open to residents of Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, aged 18 years or over."
Looks like Sony has opened the flood gates. The question for me is: Is this an effort to resuscitate or eliminate the psp go?

You know why they do this right? So that you'll have nothing to play until and you'll be forced to buy something else in the meantime. Thing is my kid only wants Little Big....... WTF! Get your shit together sony.

Here's what I dug up at http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=2058
To receive the emailed voucher you must:
* Either create a new PlayStation Network account on the new PSPgo, or just sign-in on the new PSPgo with your existing PlayStation Network account.
* After completing the first step, you will need to activate the PSPgo for games. On the XMB, go to PlayStation Network icon (PlayStation Network) > Account Management icon (Account Management) > System Activation icon (System Activation). Highlight “Game” and press the X button icon button.
* Next, you will need to “Opt In” to receive notifications from Sony Computer Entertainment (“SCE”). On the XMB, go to PlayStation Network icon (PlayStation Network) > Account Management icon (Account Management) > [Account Information] > [Notification Preferences]. At this point, you will need to check the box that says, “Yes, I am interested in receiving materials from Sony Computer Entertainment.” Once you receive your voucher code, you can change this preference if you do not wish to receive emails from SCE.
Emails with the voucher codes will be sent out within 5 to 7 business days, but may take up to 14 business days in some instances. Only consumers that purchase the PSPgo "Digital Game Pack" are eligible to receive the emailed voucher.
