Sony counting down to new God of War announcement? |
Listed in: PSP, PS3 Tags: god of war, Sony
Could there be another God of War game in the works, just waiting in the wings for its grand entrance? It appears that that may just be the case. To see the proof, you're gonna hoave to unlock the Platinum Trophy in God of War III. Or you can just read the details below.

GamersMint reports that upon unlocking the Platinum Trophy, a website is included in the Trophy information, www.spartansstandtall.com. Heading to the site itself, you will be greeted by heavy rain pouring down the screen, with the occassional ominous thunder.
On the top right of the screen is what appears to be a symbol or a clock, with a Greek , an inverted V, smack in the middle. A quarter of the outer circle of the symbol is shaded red, and it's safe to presume it alludes to blood filling it up until the time's up.

Further research points to the meaning of the inverted V, which actually is the Greek letter "L", coming from the word “Λακεδαιμόνιοι” (lakethemonihi). This only happens to be the Spartans called themselves. Another definition of the symbol is that it means "Two."
So, could this be a part 2 of something? Chains of Olympus, maybe? Feel free to check out the Spartans Stand Tall yourself. In the meantime, just keep guessing.

Based on interviews they said there probably won't be another game based on Kratos, but they want to expand on the GOW universe.

they think they know about GoW because they got to play Dante's Inferno!, so dont be too hard on em, they cant help it if they listened to rumors and chose 360 instead of ps3

Honestly i dont know why you would even by an 360 now due to the price difference, save up for a ps3 and odds are you wont be having to use customer service any time soon if you take care of it unlike the 360. Sure the 360 has more games but most games are multi-console now any way so why not just buy the console that will be less troublesome in the long run.
I will never understand if the next xbox will sell well considering all the hardware issues they had and continue to have because of the first several models of the console. PS i was an early adopter, i have one of the first wave 360's which hasn't red ringed and ive myself payed for all my consoles except for the wii which my mom got bored of and i took lol.

That would be like Halo 3 on PS3. Except we all know that the PS3 could have made it look better.
Not a hater to Halo 3 (I enjoy its multiplayer, but it still gets old.)
Also the Halo series is being worn out.
I wish to apologize now for getting off topic and on to talking about Halo 3.

I highly doubt Sony would put a popular owned game title on Microsoft's Xbox360, this would only help boost their competitors console sales if they did, i don't think Sony would like that.

I played through both 1 and 2 (yeah, that was a friggin' nightmare) on the hardest setting, so when I played the demo for 3 I was bored silly because it barely posed a challenge.
I for one, would like this series to quietly be tucked away. Too many games turn into a series that drags on for way too long. Some games shouldn't even get sequels. Bioshock 2 didn't need one, and they ret-conned the hell out of the original just to make it fit. That's not to say that B2 isn't any good, but they sort of pissed all over the first one in order to make it.
Chains of Olympus had a nice, tight ending that tied it right into the first GoW. I do not want to see a sequel to it. What I would like to see is a console port of it. It's a really solid game and would really only need to be re-textured to a PS2 level before shipping it.
Dear Devs and Publishers:
Stop beating the crap out of your intellectual properties. You know how every time a Halo game comes out, everyone except for the die-hard Halo fan groans? You know how everyone thinks all Bungie and Infinity Ward can do are FPSs? That's not a good thing, that's a bad thing. Stop dragging our favourite characters through the mud just to make a buck. You need to let things go and work on new stuff.
Let Santa Monica come up with a new game, in a new genre. Let them make something like Starfox, or Gauntlet. Can you imagine that? A multi-player action RPG made by the God of War team? How awesome would that be? Midway has little to no money, go buy that licence and give it to them. Million dollar idea.

I agree.. It's almost becoming like the movie industry. It's rare to see a 100% original idea that's GOOD (Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Ghostbusters, etc) while everything else is a sequel

Maybe more mission based or on foot levels.

I think I read on here a while back that mp is possible on GOW3, maybe co-op would be better suited for this title?
just muh hunch

And to kupo, I think some people don't like this because it's actually challenging compared to other games out there.

Do you guys seriously think they're gonna announce another GoW-game, only a mere couple of days after releasing GoW3 (of which the developers have said that this will be the last GoW game (story-wise))?
Jesus Christ, you're all idiots.

The gameplay was fun enough for a button masher/rhythm game, but the story and kratos are corny.
By the second game it was more cornier than it was interesting anymore IMO.
