Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi shows changes

sonicCrazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure made their debut at E3 last week, and while nostalgia was high and thick in the air, there still was this noticeable element that pulled the games.

Sonic Adventure, for one, is only limited to display in 4:3, complete with vertical bars on each side of the widescreen display. Unfortunately, Sonic Adventure's code couldn't be tweaked to support widescreen, explained a Sega representative.

Meanwhile, Crazy Taxi had to refurbish some familiar elements in the game for some new ones. Pizza Hut, for example, had been replaced with generic stores, and the Offspring and Bad Religion soundtrack have also been replaced with.. well... generic ones that sound alike.

But despite those setbacks (if you want to call it that), these Sega revivals still should be a sure-fire hit, if only for the sheer nostalgia it brings along with it.

No bad religion and offspring?
Its not crazy taxi now.
Not buying it, Sega, wow.
You had a golden opportunity to push out something good for a change, and you cocked it up.

none widescreen doesnt bother me but OFFSPRING is my favorite band of all time one reason why I played Crazy Taxi to start with, good thing I still own my Dreamcast and the complete USA collection of games.. going to fire up the dreamcast cuz even if the game comes out for 10 bucks now with 200gamerscore it's just not gonna be the same...

offspring is really good got to agree with that, but i can see why they had to change probably had to do with licensing of the songs and the fact that thed be realesing a newish game with those artists that they don't have a deal with anymore
as for sonic cant complain..it was presented in 4:3, it will stay 4:3

I don't like that. And Sega blaming the coding is BS. They're just being lazy. Plus, there is no VMU to play with, either. Eh, I've no interest in Sonic now.

However, if Sega is smart, they will allow custom soundtracks for Crazy Taxi, so not having Offspring in the game could be a non-issue. I already have it for PSP, so they'll need something to convince me. Not that not having Offspring is a deal breaker for me.

i have to admit the crazy taxi soundtrack really amped up the feel, and it sure doesn't feel as crazy without offspring in it. still, gameplay should be able to pull the game through, offspring or no offspring.

Did everyone forget about custom soundtracks? It might be a bit of a hassle but you can still listen to those tracks when playing the game.

The soundtrack is the best part of Crazy Taxi. Its gonna be just like the psp version. No kfc or pizza hut or levi store. Its like playing megaman 2 with not the same bosses or music

I admit that the loss of offspring and bad religion is a bummer, but seriously, they will just change a few chords and you won't know...

What bothers me is people complaining about the loss of pizza hut and other brands....really ? Ya, no game is complete without some KFC action....wow.
