SOE To Give Gamers EverQuest History Lessons Via Progression Server

EverQuestIt seems SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) really know how to pamper their players, it's been barely two months since they launched the EverQuest: Prophecy of Ro expansion, thus providing gamers seven new realms to explore and 30 new missions to complete (or die trying), now they are about to introduce something that could entice both old and new EverQuestors.

SOE announces a progression server dubbed as "The Combine" that'll allow the player to experience the very dawn of EverQuest's world. Zones in Antonica, Faydwer and Odus that were created way back on 1999 will be made available for gamers to once again explore.

This server gives the challenge of completing key tasks that is required in unlocking every expansion released since 1999 up to the Prophecy of Ro. Of course the interested adventurer must have the EverQuest base game to begin the progression plus the software for each expansion pack they are trying to unlock.

The said server will pave the way for veteran players to relive the good-old days, and for the new gamers to experience all of the EverQuest content they missed. It is scheduled to launch this June. Here's hoping the gaming community find this as indeed a new venture, rather than a scheme to make money out of recycling old stuff.
