SOCOM 4 Senior Designer: SOCOM 2 was the "elite" game, but 4 could be amazing

A lot of fans are duly impressed with the Socom franchise thus far. It comes as no surprise, therefore, to find them all very much excited as well when CJ Heine, Senior Designer for Socom 4, recently said in an interview session that the fourth iteration of the franchise "has the most potential to be something really amazing."

The benchmark for Socom so far would be the second title, which, even Heine had to admit, was the "elite game." To have Socom 4 beat that standard is then definitely saying something.

There's still no release date for Socom 4, but Heine did confirm that it will be making an appearance at this year's E3, only 2 weeks away. It will be playable with a Dualshock controller, and a brand new level will be displayed on the floor as well.

Looking forward to this for sure. Already paid off my pre-order. Socom 2 was my favorite of the series and would probably still play it today if it were not for all the cheating, something we can be sure wont be in the PS3 version. Socom confrontation was an alright game, but slant 6 seemed to miss out on all the things that made the game really shine.

thats bullSH*T. go look at the socom4 forums and ul see 90% of the fans are against the new socom4 features. i wont hold my breath with this socom, socom confrontation was a total let down, and dont say cuz this time round zipper is making the new socom, infact zipper members helped the slant6 team to develop confrontation. and if confrontation was a let down cuz the whole game was broken, then i wouldnt expect anything different with this one. i would recommend anyone wanting to play this, to buy it preowned or rent it before u buy. dont waste your money on this garbage game. (and yes iv been a socom fan since socom1). but im disgraced in what zipper and slant 6 have done to the franchise.

like every socom game after s2. I played confro and it was an embaressment to say the least. dont waste your money. They keep makin the socom games based on the noobs on the ps forums opinions.

look what slant sux did.

This is how a Real game Developer/Designer works. Dont even put a release date until you are finished. Especially if you are new to making a game on a new console.

Zipper will do a good justice to their "kid" Socom.
