SNK Playmore has opened up its own stall down at the PlayStation Store, so a few classics have already made it to the NeoGeo Station. Despite excitement among the fanbase, however, the publisher hasn't been very vocal about their plans for the initiative. So Siliconera went and asked Shinya Morishita.

"Being a commemorative project of the 20th Anniversary of the NEOGEO MVS & AES, this was a main theme of NEOGEO Station’s origins," Morishita said. "How we could bring back these classics to the fans with adding plenty of attractive features, the Network Mode, and ensuring the highest quality emulation possible, were a few of the major points considered from the start of this project."

As for new releases, Morishita points to the official website for updates. For requests and suggestions, they also have a Facebook page where you can make yourself heard. Sort of.

Nothing we don't already know, so there's more to be asked.

the words aren't very reassuring, but seeing the titles that have been released so far, i'm not too worried

# ports are betterrocklite 2011-02-11 11:13
who cares ports are better. they just went that route to save effort and cash. i dont even give a crap about those titles anyways. why pay the same price for mslug1 for ps3 that you prolly already own on one or more console anyways when you can get neogeo battle colloseum kof 2k2 or garou? they sell for the same price. some of those snk arranged tracks are just awesome but youll never get that emulating the neogeo arcade board. sure neogeo runs good but if it didnt entirely suck then whey is every console port better than the orig? all im saying is booo cuz the original versions need some work anyways.

# NG Station Great idea... WHERE'S THE SUPPORT?!spoonmanx 2011-04-02 21:13
4 months now without a single PS3 NGS release. Did SNKP really base their entire future of NGS on the first 10 games? Of course no one is going to buy Fatal Fury 1 or Magician Lord.. If they want to sell a ton of games they should throw Metal Slug 3 or Last Blade 2 on there. No reason to work from the oldest to newest if they really need to hit numbers..

But really how much work is it for them to throw a new rom on their frontend and sell it? It seems the hard work has already been done. Now scan the artwork and make a manual... SELL IT!

I love the neogeo station! I agree though that they really need to crank up the title selection if they want this thing to succeed. I mean, I for one am against illegal rom emulation on computers or hacked consoles...but if SNK plans to make money off these old games, they AT LEAST need to compete with the selection that is available for pirated roms (which means put pretty much every neo geo game out there for us). True fans will buy them, and less people will be tempted to download games illegally if game companies would just make their games available for God's sake. All that being said...Thanks for the neogeo station! It rocks, just please flesh out the title selection, gamers want more than 10 options to get our retro library built up.
