As you may know, Nintendo has been celebrating Mario's 25th anniversary. The publisher is obviously more than pleased to see their fat little plumber go the distance, but who better to ask than the guy who made him? Nintendo's master gamesmith, Shigeru Miyamoto, takes a 25-year walk down memory lane and tells us about the humble character that would later be known as the face of their organization and one of gaming's biggest icons.
Here, Miyamoto shares his memories of Mario's early years. He still remembers the first release date, the delay, and the little things they had to do to make Mario work.

All I know is, I like the way Miyamoto thinks! I play new games today and something just feels missing. I know it's because I'm older and mostly have memories of old school games but he keeps all that stuff alive. Every new Mario is new enough to basically enjoy 'over again'. It's todays technology mixed with old school and I just love that stuff!!!!
