Sega: Saturn games might end up on PSN, XBLA too

Sega are releasing Dreamcast games on PSN and XBLA, but where's the love for the Saturn? As Sega's Yosuke Okunari explains, it's because the Saturn just isn't as well known as the Dreamcast and the Genesis.

"The Genesis and Dreamcast are well known, but Saturn is unknown," he told Impress Watch. "During that period, PlayStation and Nintendo 64 were a success overseas, but to be honest Saturn was not a success. Because of this, we decided on Dreamcast."

There's still hope, though. Okunari noted that PS2 ports of games like NiGHTS shows that they haven't completely forgotten the console. He also teased gamers with possible Saturn re-releases similar to the Dreamcast games being readied for PSN and XBLA.

"What we announced this time is a project where we will have consecutive releases of titles that were debuted on Dreamcast," he said. "Separate from this, we're of course thinking about ports of Saturn games. It's the same as how Sega Ages and Virtual Console were separate existences. It's not that we have no intention of porting Saturn titles, so please share your requests."

Are you kidding me?!?!?! I suggested this years ago as a good alternative for VC games on the PS3!!! I doubt the Wii VC can handle most Saturn game sizes and since PSOne has been doing so well on the PSN Store, might as well add its closest rival of the generation (to me)! Now in terms of games...

Every 2-3 months i hook my Saturn up and play Panzer Dragoon 1 n 2,Mr.Bones,Tomb Raider and Daytona USA[which is an arcade classic in itself].I was a Saturn owner before Playstation

Shining Force 3 Complete *grumble* even though I doubt they'd go to the effort of translating scenario 2 and 3 one can dream though.
