Sega is getting ready to pump more classic gaming goodness into the veins of the video gaming masses. They're not just releasing for console afficionados but for PC gamers as well.

The company has announced that it will be releasing the Sega Genesis Classics Collection Gold Edition for PC next month. The collection brings together 46 Sega Genesis titles spread across four volumes. These include games such as Shinobi, Altered Beast, and Sega stalwart Sonic the Hedgehog.

 

Sega Genesis Classics Collection Gold Edition for PC will be released in North America on March 15, 2011. Europe will get it on March 18, 2011.

Heh, I haven't thought of ESWAT in years. I loved a lot of these games back when I still had a Genesis but surely there are less expensive ways to get them. I'd love to play HD remakes of Shining Force I and II though.

This is disappointing when it comes to Sega HD remakes because the original Sonics are the first to be raped by it no matter how many other "HD" remakes exact for it already

I hope other companies show us some love and rerelease their older games too. I'll be willing to pay 100$ for a copy of a quest collection from Lucas Arts (Kyrandia, Day of the Tantacle and many more great games). Make a PC edition and a 3DS edition, and I'll buy both :P
