Defense researches believe that the Hyshot III which was launched 500 km North of Adelaide Australia was a big success. The scramjet (supersonic combustion ramjet) which is designed to travel seven times the speed of sounds is believed to have reached a speed of Mach 7.6 or 9,000km/h in a matter for six seconds.
Researchers are still analyzing data from the experiment.
As you can imagine the launch will pave the way for ultra fast, intercontinental air travel.
