Rumor: Bethesda working on next Elder Scrolls game

Where will Bethesda go after ravaging Washington D.C. and turning it into a post-apocalyptic wasteland in Fallout 3? Back to the high magic and fantastical settings of the Elder Scrolls universe, if a new report is to be believed.

According to Eurogamer Denmark, a follow-up to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is definitely coming. Here's what the website's editor-in-chief, Kristian West, had to say:

"[Our] source not only confirmed that the game is in current production, but also spoke briefly about the content - with fantasy-sounding phrases like Dragon Lord, something with The Blades - and that voice acting for the characters in the game is currently happening in the weeks to follow.

"The same source confirmed, with official game documents in hand, that this will be the chronological sequel to what happened in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is the latest game in the now 16-years-old Elder Scrolls saga and by itself one of the better RPGs for PC and consoles."

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released in 2006 to critical and financial success. Bethesda have been working on an unrevealed game, thought to be the Oblivion sequel, for the past two years.

We know it'll be awesome.
We know we'll live on another world for months.
We know we'll thrill with its massive game map.
We know we will travel through well designed dungeons with great environments.
We know we will enjoy a great story.
We know we'll despair with its countless bugs and lack of support.

Oh boy, another love-hate relationship with a bethesda game. And I'm itching and just can't wait

I'm a sucker for elder scrolls games, but I also get really annoyed by their bugs, specially game breaking ones (vampire quest bug on ps3, anyone?). Let's pray this one is decently supported.

We also know we'll play it even with all the bugs. We'll complain but still we play it.

I still have that game I bought it at the launch or right after the game was released. And they didn't do very much with fixing the freezing up errors and bugs as what you were posting. I hope that there Sequel get the full treatment! Bethesda don'
t rush your Next gen games take your time!

Gotta say it chaps n chapesses, Oblivion was 150% better on PC than 360 and PS3. Its worth playing again if you can get hands on a good PC.

On my 6870 with all the upgraded textures, open cities, all the hundreds of mods Oblivion on my Pc is about 5 times the game it is on the poor old 360 in the corner....
Im still playing FNV but might have to switch back to Tamreil for a bit :)

From what I've heard they're going to use the Project Offset team that Intel disbanded. If it is so... expect nothing less than freakin' awesome!
