Activision announced a round of cuts earlier this week. Its declining rhythm game franchises, Guitar Hero and DJ Hero, were effectively dissolved. The move resulted in almost 500 people being laid off.
While the decision may have stemmed from a need to cut down on the number of underperforming divisions, new rumors suggest that Activision may just be trimming down to prepare for a run at one of its major rivals, Take-Two Interactive.
Trade news site MCV is reporting that "very strong rumors" circulating amongst the highest echelons of Activision's offices point to a possible acquisition of the Grand Theft Auto and BioShock publisher.

A yearly GTA sounds awful, and with Activision the game would be completely broken and unplayable like their Call of Duty shits.

I bet they are still pissed off when Ghostbusters the video game sold really well and they had a crack at publishing it but declined for fucking Guitar Hero shit.
Activision has become the new EA, EA is starting to redeem themselves with games such as Dead Space.

Take Two did pretty well for itself game-wise. However with the laid-off coming.... I can only say they will either disappear like other game studios or merge with another publisher.

although I was looking forward to true crimes...at least let the company release the game... I was so glad to see another one then they pulled the rug out from under me. The only thing I see if they grab GTA is better graphics seeing as how rockstar cant make character model's to save their ass... Nor they screwed their driving engine in GTAIV up all the cars drive on ice.. high end or not also everything drives like a hummer bulky and well...undrivable.. thats all im saying... oh and btw Saints row is better..
