If you're into talking animals, then Rio should fit you just right. THQ and Twentieth Century Fox have teamed up to deliver the videogame version of the animated film, Rio, set to come out in a couple of months. The North American launch date have already been previously announced for April 12th, but what of Europe?

Don't worry, you're not about to be left out of all the fun. Europe is getting the avian adventure on April 8th, just some couple of days ahead of the US, and in time with the movie release. Said Martin Good, Executive VP of Kids, Family and Casual Games for THQ, "Rio's humor, compelling characters, thrilling story, colorful characters and wonderful music inspired us to create a unique and imaginative game experience."

The game version will be featuring multiplayer options of up to four players, along with forty mini-games, featuring Blu, Jewel, Pedro, Nico, Raphael, and Eva. There are also five modes for you to compete in as you make your way to Rio in the hopes of getting there first and be crowned as the winner at the Carnival.

Apart from the multiplayer mini-games, there are also four mini-games for the DS version, where you can intereact and party with the rest of the gang from the film version.

Senior VP of New Media for Fox Consumer Products, Gary Rosenfeld, had this to say about the game: "Rio is one of the biggest family events of the year and is tailor-made to be enjoyed through a video game that will bring the same experience to gamers of all ages."

In case you haven't caught a peek at what Rio is all about, check out this official trailer for the video game:

Rio flies out this April to your consoles - Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii - as well as on your Nintendo handhelds, the DS and the DSi. We'll be keeping you up to speed on any more animal-talkie adventures as they come.
