Over the weekend at WonderCon 2010, Sony Pictures debuted the trailer of Resident Evil: Afterlife, the latest film adaptation of the highly successful horror game franchise from Capcom.

Filmed using James Cameron and Vincent Pace' Fusion Camera System that boldly claims to be "the world's most advanced 3D technology", Resident Evil: Afterlife is scheduled to be released on September 10, 2010.

it seems too distant from the real resident evil. You know, the dark horrific one with the zombies and no string ninja bs. DAMN YOU CAPCOM!!! You f*ed up my beloved series! Now I turn to Dead Space for my horror needs, that's right freakin EA of all people. "Resident Evil" movies and the games today are too far from its roots and are too hollywood. The movie series sank when Nemesis decided to be a hero at the end of Apocalypse... what the hell was that?! And Extinction had good action, but was poor in every other category.

I can't believe you guys actually like it. You must not be hardcore RE fans. These movies based off games are not that great. This is nothing like RE just because it has the name and one or two zombies from the games you guys think its like RE. I don't consider these scary/horror films, but more of an action/adventure type of movie. Sigh... what has happened to RE?!?

It's what sells. You capture more of an audience then just following a game plot completely.

Why do you think RE: Degeneration exists? For the "hardcore" fans as you call them.

So let me guess this straight. You're saying that you can't be a hardcore RE fan if you like the movies. Well im sorry but dude that fucking screams fanboy. Iv'e been obsessed with RE since i first played Code Veronica X on PS2, since then Iv'e played every RE except Outbreak 1 abd RE5, watched every RE movie including Degeneration AND LOVED THEM, also go every piece of RE merch available on PSN HOME. Iv'e also bought RE1 TWICE!!! and pre ordered Degeneration. I love RE to the death and I also enjoy the movies. If that's not a hardcore fan then i don't know what is

How can anyone say that the RE movie series are good. They are all garbage the don't even follow the story of RE at all. I dont remember nemesis ever helping me out in the games. Anyone who says that this movie will be good is not a real RE fan!!!

You can tell this movies gonna blow, not even from a gamers point of view but that of a movie watcher. Resident evil movies went down the drain somewhere within the first one (not saying it was bad, but the alice character had nothing to do with anything except that she was a cover up owner for the mansion) not to mention how bad everything else sucked after it. I really didn't think they could make it worse, well I've been proved wrong.
