Report: Kinect only supports two 'active' players |
Listed in: Xbox 360 Tags: kinect, Microsoft, primesense
Ó

Some tech specs obtained by retailers in the UK allege that Kinect will only be able to track two "active" players at a time. The total number of people it can track, however, is actually six including the two active players.
The two-player limit was mentioned by PrimeSense back at E3, although further confirmation from them or Microsoft never came to light.
Another interesting thing laid out by the tech specs is Kinect's hardware requirements. Xbox 360 owners won't need a special port after all, just 175MB of storage space for the drivers and one USB port.

i can't see this being a problem for anything aside from rockband style games, and they won't want to give up their lucrative peripheral business any way.
i imagine this is because it uses the 360 for calculations? to track 4+ people at once might eat too much cpu power for this gen.

Maybe you read the whole thing, but you clearly didn't understand what you were reading. It can only track 6. That means its aware of up to 6 people. The games however will be TWO (as in the number 2) player... Dip schit.
Public schooling FTW!
