Reggie demos new Donkey Kong, confirms 3DS release on Fallon

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime dropped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to further confirm that the 3DS will be released in 2011. No regions or months mentioned, just the year. He also showed off the new Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii.

Nintendo have said before that one region might be getting the new handheld this year, so we guess this makes it clear that it won't be the US.

OT, I know, but who'd win in a fight: Donkey Kong or Gorilla Grod?

I think it's sorta neat that this was displayed on the show, but I don't buy the "DS is my favorite system! I heard a rumor about a 3DS?" "this is so awesome!!" bit .. it was too cheesy, too coincidental, I think this show would've been better off announcing that they had a special guest who was going to show off their product instead of acting like he's absolutely infatuated with it when, in fact, you can tell her has no idea what he's (Jimmy) doing.

This is obviously Donkey Kong on Fallon, showing off the new Reggie Fils-Amie game.

Almost every guest on a late night talkshow, Fallon or otherwise, is selling something. Whether it's a movie, or a new album, or whatever. Wasn't Cliffy B just there trying to sell me Gears 3? (which I am getting) Why hate on Reggie for doing the same thing everyone else does on a talkshow. I can't wait for the 3DS, or kinect, or the virtual boy i just ordered from e-bay. It's a good time to be a gamer for everyone.
