Red Faction: Armageddon will not only expand the critically acclaimed science-fiction series, it will also retain several elements from the previous title, building on the events from its predeccesor as well as the upcoming Syfy live-action movie adapatation, Red Faction: Origins.

Some gameplay action

The game will put you in the shoes of destruction expert Darius Mason, as you journey to the frozen poles to the molten core of Mars as you wage war against the Red Faction's greatest enemy yet. Built using the groundbreaking Geo-Mod 2.0 destruction engine, players can take advantage of total environmental destruction, collapsing huge Martian structures on their enemies. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano-Forge's incredible repair ability, creating new gameplay scenarios never before possible. From lava tubes to ice caves, gamers will discover a new playground for epic battles in both the single-player campaign and multiplayer co-operative modes.

The plot this time will start half a century after the Red Faction resistance freed Mars, "the red planet again becomes a battleground. Colonists struggle for survival in the underground mines after the surface is rendered uninhabitable. When Darius Mason, grandson of revolution heroes Alec Mason and Samanya, unknowingly releases a long-dormant evil, Armageddon is unleashed on Mars. Red Faction: Armageddon explodes onto the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC on May 31st in North America and June 3 internationally. The game will be available for a suggested retail price of US$ 59.99.
