RE5 producer moves up the Capcom corporate ladder

Capcom lost a legend when Keiji Inafune announced his resignation. But a day prior to that revelation, Capcom promoted Resident Evil 5 producer, Jun Takeuchi, to a bigger post. From "Deputy Head of Consumer Games, R&D Division and General Manger of R&D Production Department", Takeuchi is now "Corporate Officer, Deputy Head of Consumer Games R&D Division and General Manager of R&D Production Department."

Now where could the new corporate officer's vision take the company? Takeuchi shared his thoughts in a previous interview, unrelated to the promotion that he just got:

Looking ahead, I believe gamers are going to have a sharper eye and become even more selective. This will eliminate poorly made games from the market, and drive down the number of titles released. The market will no longer be one in which a new game grabs people's attention and interest.

Exactly, I like different. For some reason people enjoy playing the same exact game over and over again.

Take the movies. People seem to think RE1 the movie should be exactly like RE1 the game. RE2 the movie should be exactly like RE2 the game... Why? You just played the game, why watch it again? RE the movie is based on RE the story. But it is its own monster.

Different can be good.

Different only in bad ways. There was little effort put into the game after the first chapter.

Words I said: Inafune will leave. Someone who wants a good job in this economy will take his place. Yet was someone voted down.

i had a lot of fun playing RE5.

i'm one of those selective players that looks for good quality in games and not just those half-ass games rushed into development with lame gameplay, graphics, and storyline.

yes EA and activision, i'm talking to you guys!
