Quasars - The Ultimate Encryption Tool |

No matter how secure normal software encryption may be, there is always a chance that a particularly gifted hacker will eventually defeat it. Now, Japanese computer scientists may have found a virtually unbreakable form of encryption - in outer space.Quasars are unusual stars that give off pulses in the form of powerful radio signals. Ken Umeno of Tokyo's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology believes these radio signals could be used to encrypt digital communications. He thinks the random nature of the signals, which are completely unpredictable, would make quasars an ideal encryption tool. Umeno states, "Quasar-based cryptography is based on a physical fact that such a space signal is random and has a very broad frequency spectrum."
The random patterns generated by the quasar would be available to the parties involved in the communication on a one-time basis. Each additional communication between the parties would require a new pattern, which would be randomly generated by the quasar.
