Just like the PS3, Microsoft's Xbox 360 console comes in a variety of models. The 4GB version doesn't come with a hard drive, but it is relatively cheap at US$ 200. On the higher end of the scale, there's a 250GB model that retails for around US$ 300. Another, more expensive option is the Holiday Bundle that comes with a 250GB console, Alan Wake, and Forza 3. For the Halo fans, there's also a Halo: Reach bundle, but that one's a limited edition.
If you really want the full Xbox 360 experience, however, you might want to spring for the Kinect bundle. It comes with everything you need to set up Microsoft's revolutionary controller-free Kinect motion sensing system, a 250GB Xbox 360 console, and a copy of Kinect Adventures to get you started on the motion control highway. Be prepared to drop about US$ 400 for this bundle, though. For a hundred bucks less, you can also get the bundle with a 4GB console. If you already have an Xbox 360, there's also a standalone Kinect bundle.
A console's nothing without good games, though, and thankfully the Xbox 360 got quite a few standouts this year:
- Halo: Reach
- Alan Wake
- Fable III
- Mass Effect 2
- Red Dead Redemption (also on PS3)
- Bayonetta (also on PS3)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops (also on PS3)
