Puzzle Quest 2 expands to PC, iPhone and iPad this summer

The Puzzle Quest universe will further expand this summer as Namco Network has announced the upcoming release of Puzzle Quest 2 for the PC, iPhone and iPad. Developed by Infinite Interactive and produced by D3Publisher, the game promises to bring the flair of the award-winning RPG puzzler to the new format with new characters, new weapons, ton's of mini games and more. It will feature:

Four distinct characters — Templar, Sorcerer, Barbarian or Assassin — that provide interesting twists on class-specific mechanics.
New modes that includes Story Mode, Instant Action, Tournament Mode and Multiplayer Mode
Online Leaderboards – players can experiences new levels of challenges with their customized characters;
More active elements – like swinging weapons with both hands, using sidekicks to access spells, and equipping shields to wield in battle;
Tons of mini-games using a variety of puzzle activities that reward gamers with constant treasure and experience while introducing new challenges – picking locks, bashing through doors and disarming traps;
Puzzle Quest’s original, award-winning score blended with hundreds of hand-painted pieces of art, and new gem colors.

David Schwartz, general manager of PC games, Namco Networks, said:

We’re excited to be working with D3P to introduce PC gamers to Puzzle Quest 2, a game that delivers everything you would expect from this impressive franchise.”

Aside from the new platforms, the game will also be available for the Nintendo DS on June 22, with the Xbox 360 version also coming this summer.
