If you're interested to catch this "Move Server" reveal firsthand, you might want to head out to the GDC panel happening on March 2nd. The event will be hosted by John McCutchan, SCEA's senior developer support engineer.

The session will also have general information about the development of the Move, including some tips on how to better / properly use the Sharpshooter accessory for it.

That ball is reaaaaally distracting.

Actually, it's not too farfetched to have the Move supporting your PC games. After all, the device is essentially based on the USB-based PlayStation Eye. So really, it's just a matter of having a set of drivers to have the Move officially supported for the PC.

not sure but good idea to release official dev kit for it, might get some interesting apps or software built.

If people really cared there would have been a hack released long before now, i mean with Kinect you got news of every stage of it's Pc hack, but this... Nothing.

That's because the Kinect was closed off.

With Move, the camera already has PC drivers. It's already been done. As for the Move wands....that's just additional driver writing. Nothing too interesting there.

However the people that "hack" this stuff generally don't write application for it. They just make the development tools available. If Sony takes care of that part then actual app/game devs could then pick that up and go to town. Novice or Expert devs...doesn't matter.

Except Kinect was hacked using an expensive USB sniffer.

Move, requires both a USB sniffer AND a bluetooth one. Twice as expensive.

This is Sony opening herself up and expanding her products. I think its kinda a good decision.

Oh yeah.I could see this being used in garrys mod,and some other things that arent possible on consoles.

This needs to be done and i would almost bet that its going to happen. It only makes sense and it could open the door for some truly awesome advancements in the pc sector.

The diference betwen move and kinetik is that kinetik needed only drivers while move needs drivers for both camara and controller (camara driver its been out since long) and move driver isn't that much of a problem since there's a sixaxis/DS3 driver but the algorithms to track the move in the camera image.
