Ten years ago today, the PlayStation 2 was officially launched in North America. It went on to sell 145 million units worldwide as of June 30th this year, bringing countless names into the gaming hall of fame in the process, God of War and Killzone among them. To this day the PS2 continues to ring up decent sales for its age, and Sony is only too happy about this milestone.

Strictly speaking, the PS2 celebrated its tenth birthday on March 4th, the day it was first launched in Japan ten years ago. Still, today is a special day for SCEA and the millions of gamers that enjoyed countless sit-downs with the console.

A PS2 bundle with the Toy Story 3 video game will be available by October 31st to remind us all to love our old toys.

I think there's a typo in this article, because I don't think every human being on the planet owns between 21 and 22 PS2 consoles on average.

PS3 IS better than 360 and Wii.
the 360 is no match agaisnt the PS3.
But Wii sales more. Who agrees with me?

Because the Wii was cheap at luanch and it had a lot of exclusives. The PS3 owns the Xbox 360 and Wii!

Letme make this clear so you can better understand whats going on here. You can ask ANY developer. 95% of games first come out on the 360 then it gets ported to the PS3. When they get ported, you run into problems like erratic game play, Glitchy graphics..etc Also, lets not forget the online content. So before you put down a 360 that is out selling the PS3.. Do your research then talk

You fucktard, don't bring fanboy shit into here!

Can an NES compete with a PS3? No. Which games are better? NES (retro choice).

You see, better graphics and hardware doesn't always mean games will be better.

still have my fat ps2 from launch. played it viciously over the years and still works like a charm to this day! ...well it skips for a mere half-second on dvd's about mid-way. idk what that's about though, but its very minor.

Sure wish matrix was open source.

Even though DMS could do more it was a shitty culture and a wonky chip.

I always had problems with the last DMS chips, like a lot of people.

I've had a few Matrix', and they all worked like a charm everytime.

But unfortunately never developing HDD boot or code injection.
